Mark Jones

Mark is a graduate of the University of Michigan, holding both a Masters (MM) and Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree. Prior to his position as the Program Director for Living Arts, he held the position of Academic Program Officer in the Center for Engineering Diversity and Outreach, managing a wide variety of academic, personal and professional development programs. He has held the position of Assistant Professor of Music at Alcorn State University and the University of Tennessee at Martin, teaching applied trumpet, music theory, music appreciation and brass methods courses. He has also performed with many orchestras and brass ensembles throughout his career.



Ruth Marsh

Ruth is a native to Michigan and loves everything Michigan: the wines, the cherries, the bodies of water, Vernors, stroh’s ice cream, and of course Ann Arbor! She has been at the University for 27 years, with 6 years of that time spent as part of the Living Arts team. Her interests include outdoor related activities, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.



Brittany Simmons

Brittany is a graduate student in the University of Michigan’s Taubman College, where she is pursuing a Master’s of Urban and Regional Planning with a concentration in Housing, Community, and Economic Development. She graduated from the University of Michigan’s Residential College with a B.A in Social Theory & Practice, Spanish, and Urban Studies in 2018. 



Grace Giordano 

Grace is a third year undergraduate student in the Stamps School of Art and Design, pursuing a BFA. She was a first-year member of Living Arts in the 2016-2017 academic year and was a peer mentor for the program in 2017-2018.
