Hi there! I am a junior double majoring in Chemical Engineering and Mathematical Biology and minoring in Creative Writing. My favorite movie is Inglorious Basterds and my favorite music is probably your dad’s favorite music. Give me apples with balsamic vinegar and put on some Always Sunny in Philadelphia and I’m a happy gal. Hometown: Byron, Michigan
Major: Architecture, Minor: Japanese
Hi! My name is Mitchell, and I’m from the small town of Byron, Michigan. I’m now a sophomore in Taubman College majoring in Architecture, and I’m also pursuing a minor in Japanese Language. My interests are too many to list, but I enjoy traveling, musicals, cosplay, movies (Disney and Ghibli, anyone?), Nintendo games, art, making YouTube videos, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and memes. If I’m not out working on architecture projects, you can probably find me in the lounge putting on showings of TV shows or movies. I joined living arts because it seemed like an interesting and creative community, and it surpassed my expectations in every way. I’ve heard someone describe living arts as a collection of people who are always the most interesting person in the room simultaneously, and I couldn’t put it better myself. I’m looking forward to being a resident advisor and getting to know all of our new members, so please feel free to approach me if we have anything in common, or if you have any questions!
Hometown: Paramus, New Jersey

I am currently studying biomedical engineering, with a concentration in biochemistry (basically I’m learning how to grow/clone/build medical devices). Outside of class, my hobbies include Dungeons and Dragons, downhill ski racing, and playing video games.

Hometown: Boca Raton, Florida
Major: Art & Design
Hello friends! My name is Shalin Berman and I am from Boca Raton, Florida. I am an Art and Design major with a concentration in graphic design. If I’m not working away at Stamps or watching tv/movies in my room, you can find me at the NCRB. As Fergie once said in the iconic song Fergalicious, “I be up in the gym just working on my fitness”. I love making art, working out, watching baseball (specifically the Marlins— yes, I know they’re bad, but they’re my home team), and watching RuPaul’s Drag Race. If you ever want to talk about any of these topics, or anything else, come find me! I can’t wait to meet you all.
Hometown: Edwardsburg, Michigan
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Hi! My name is Robert Clark, and I am a mechanical engineering major from the small town of Edwardsburg, Michigan. This summer, I’ve had the opportunity to intern at an aerospace manufacturing company partnered with General Electric. When I’m not studying, you can usually find me in the lounge working on projects for MedLaunch, a biomedical innovation club, or geeking out about horror movies and contemporary musical theatre. I’ve been interested in theatre for most of my life, and have continued to stay involved at U-M by being a part of the Educational Theatre Company. I had an amazing experience with Living Arts last year, and I am so excited to share this community with a new group of people.
Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio
Major: Art & Design
Hello! My name is Maddie Domagala. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio (though I’ve moved all around the states and the UK.) I am a sophomore studying Art and Design, mainly interested in either medical illustration or fashion design. I am a huge Disney and Pixar movie enthusiast, as well as a Harry Potter and Marvel nerd. I am always around to chat about anything, from cute animals to conspiracy theories and everything in-between! Hometown: Macomb County, Michigan
Major: Art & Design
Hi! My name is Anna Getzinger. I am from Macomb County, Michigan. At the University of Michigan, I am in the Stamps School of Art and Design, majoring in Art and Design. I hope to dual degree in Psychology as well. I am also involved in musical theater and the Michigan club, UMGASS. In my free time I love to run, hike, draw, play the piano and go to Michigan Football games. I definitely recommend buying the student football tickets, it was one of the best experiences of my freshman year 🙂 Go Blue!
Hometown: Ypsilanti, Michigan
Major: Art & Design
My name is Noah, and I am studying to become a User Experience-based Product Developer. As one who understands the entire scope of a product’s or service’s development process, it is my responsibility to understand you, as the end-user, to design a product that will meet your needs in the most cost-effective way possible. I am studying user interaction design within the Stamps School of Art & Design. Additionally, I’m pursuing a minor in the Ross School of Business for product management, a minor in ethnography for UX, and a strew of courses in the School of Information to understand conceptual user experience. Like scaling a mountain with a 60-pound backpack and a few guys, I enjoy anticipating problems my partners and I may face and work with my team to solve them head-on, whether it be in school, at work, or on the trail. Please talk to me if you have any questions about anything I mentioned. As a well-rounded individual, I would love to help you figure out your quest for the most appropriate career fit for you; making things easier is what I do! I also enjoy personal health science, so if you have health questions, ask em.
P.S. Get ready to sign your emails with “GO BLUE!” for the rest of your life (it’s pretty cool to be a Michigan Wolverine)
Hometown: Hamtramck, Michigan
Major: Performing Arts and Technology
Hey I’m Logan, and I’m from a small city called Hamtramck that is inside of Detroit, MI. I really loved being a part of living arts last year, and it’s really exciting that I’ll be around for another year to meet all of you new mentees. I often have to explain myself when I say that I’m studying Performing Arts Technology at the music school. But what I really enjoying doing is making absurd and obnoxious sounds on my computer and listening records. If you have an album or artist you are really pumped about and want to share, feel free to tell me about it. I’m always trying to expand my horizons and I’m usually excited to share what I’m listening to as well. Even though I’m pretty heavily focused in the world of music, I also do things outside of that realm. I’m a little obsessed with smartphone reviews. I often find myself watching reviewers on YouTube and digging through spec sheets on GSM arena to pass time or procrastinate. Alrighty. I’ll see you all soon, and I hope you all have a great year!
Hometown: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Major: Civil and Environmental Engineering
My name is Eli Richards and I’m a Sophomore studying Civil and Environmental Engineering and also pursuing a Spanish Minor. I love hiking and swimming and dancing and eating and talking and reading and movies and piano and also a lot of other things. I’m always excited to go somewhere new and meet new people, but I also appreciate the places I’ve been and the people I already know. I value sincerity and integrity and I always try to do the right thing. I’m a native Ann Arborite so you could say I know a little something about how things work around here. I’m so excited to get to know all of you and I hope you love Living Arts as much as I do.
Hometown: Charlotte, NC
Major: Music Performance
Hello all new living artist/engineers/future rulers of the world! My name is John Roselli, and I am a rising sophomore in SMTD. I am a Trombone Performance major, and Living Arts is basically my home. It might change this year, but you should be able to catch me down in the lounge any time after 8PM most nights. My interests include public transportation, music (of course!), wacky art, interacting w/ other people, the outdoors, biking, and much more. While I am training to become a professional musician, I am strongly considering becoming a life coach/psychotherapist somewhere down the line. I hope to meet all of you very soon, and let’s get this show on the road!
Hometown: Fort Collins, CO
Major: Computer Science
My name is Claire Russell, I’m from a smaller town in northern Colorado (Fort Collins, if you know where that is). I am a sophomore this year in LSA majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Korean language. I’m also on a robotics team here at U of M that builds autonomous vehicles (ARV, if you’re reading this you should join)! Aside from school stuff, I love drawing, listening to music, and action/super hero movies (I have a deep passion for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Pacific Rim). I also love playing Skyrim, even though I have no Skyrim talent whatsoever. Some other fun facts about me: my favorite band is Phoenix, I used to live in South Korea, I am embarrassingly bad at Mario Kart, and I play the oboe! If you ever have questions about EECS, Korea/n, why oboe is the best instrument in the orchestra or if you ever need music/action movie suggestions, please feel free to visit Anna G and I on the 4th floor! We do have a couch 🙂
Hometown: Niles, Michigan
Major: Environmental Engineering
Hey y’all! My name is Erin Schimmel, I’m from Niles, Michigan, and I’m a sophomore majoring in environmental engineering. Aside from engineering, I enjoy going on weird adventures, making sick memes, obsessing over One Direction, and playing pranks on my fellow friends (feel free to ask me about Hassaan’s mattress). I was also voted this last year as most Living Arts and most likely to whip at a funeral, I take pride in both of those awards. If you need advice/help, want to make TikToks, or want to be friends, come find me!! I can’t wait for the fall semester to begin because I’m so excited to meet all of you!!!

Outside of school, I am an ambassador at the Detroit Opera House (so if you like opera, please talk to me). I love The Twilight Zone, mormon memes, and metalsmithing. I hope Living Arts is just as incredibly helpful to you as it was for me as a freshman in a brand new place. If you have any questions about college life, feel free to ask!

Major: Elementary Education
HELLO HELLO!! My name is Mikayla Wallace, otherwise known as Mikki, and I am an Elementary Education major from Wayne, MI! I think it’s important to note that my eldest sister graduated from Ohio State. I am so super excited to be a Living Arts mentor this year. Some of my hobbies include: singing showtunes very loudly in the lounge, dancing, playing my violin, chilling with friends, and making a project out of any art supply in sight. I have a puppy named Fuller and I am OBSESSED with Hozier. I absolutely LOVE Michigan sports and NFL football (trying to figure out how to live stream Sunday games FOR FREE in the lounge currently). I’m really good at Just Dance so if you wanna challenge me…WATCH OUT because I’m always up for a game. I think that this is going to be an aMAIZEing (haha see what I did there) year. Please feel free to ask me questions or a pop a head in my door for a cup of tea! That’s it from me! GOODBYE!
